Haiku is an ancient form of poetry that has been part of Japanese culture for centuries. Its subject matter tends to be the contemplation of nature and the beauty in quiet landscapes. But that's not the kind of stuff that inspires writer and photographer Bruno Pieroni. Challenged by a friend to write a haiku every day of his monthlong trip to Japan, Bruno went farther, and chronicled his experiences through the haiku format, from riding the bullet train to spending the night in a capsule hotel.
