Bernt in a Dream: A Children's Story

Ingeborg Teuffenbach (1914–1992) was a poet from Wolfsberg, Austria. She loved to ski, and met her husband Heinz Capra (1906–1998) on a ski slope. They moved to Innsbruck and raised two sons, Fritjof Capra (b.1939) and Bernt Capra (b.1941).This rhyming fairy tale was written for Bernt in 1946. It is a mother’s dream of abundance for her child, after (without saying it) the devastation of World War II.The other children she mentions are her niece Ingrid Kaposi (1933-2018), and nephews Klaus Kaposi (b.1937), Sigurd Kaposi (1940–1993), and Dietrich Teuffenbach (b.1945).Ingeborg’s German text, Bernt im Traum, is beautifully handwritten and illustrated.
